Collection: Franciscus Picabia
Francis Picabia, born François Marie Martinez Picabia on January 22, 1879 in Paris and died on November 30, 1953 in the same city, is a French painter, designer and writer, close to the Dada movement, then surrealist.
He introduced himself as an "artist of all genres" in 1923. Like his contemporaries, he questioned the place of painting, shaken up by the emergence of photography, then became one of the first to paint from photographs.
